BES meeting 2024 – registration open
The 2024 BES meeting is sheduled on Friday October 11th and Saturday October 12th – in Dolce La Hulpe.
This year’s scientific program is online and the registration is now open.
The focus of this year’s program will be on thyroid disease, the aging male, diabetes technology, neuro-endocrine tumors and ovarian failure.
The laureates of the Belgian Endocrine Society Lecture Award and the Selected Belgian Paper award will present a summary of their work, as will the winners of the Young Investigator Award.
Finally three sponsored symposia offer new insights on dyslipidemia in diabetes, acromegaly and obesity.
The prevous edtion of the BES meeting allowed us to gather more than 130 participants.

Immunology of Diabetes Congress, IDS 2024.
We are pleased to invite you to the 20th edition of the Immunology of Diabetes Congress, IDS 2024. This year, the IDS conference will take place in the old city of Bruges, Belgium, between November 4-8, 2024.
This conference unites basic and translational scientists, clinicians, pharmaceutical companies and foundations interested in Type 1 Diabetes. Together we strive to better predict, prevent and eventually cure T1D. Check out our latest program to discover the wide range of topics.
Registration and abstract submission are NOW open! We encourage young investigators to apply for oral and poster presentations, as this is an exciting opportunity to engage in new collaborations and discuss novel insights with experts in the field.

Appeal to collaborate in a survey
You are kindly invited to participate in a survey exploring testosterone methodology in clinical units and laboratories throughout Europe.
This survey is part of a larger project funded by research foundation Flanders (FWO): ‘Better estimates of hormonal exposure to improve diagnosis and treatment in endocrine diseases (BEED-ED), which aims to improve accuracy, accessibility and clinical applicability of (free) steroid hormone levels.
Currently, different methods are used to measure testosterone and SHBG, hampering harmonized clinical use of (free) testosterone. With this survey, we want to map current clinical practices on methods to measure testosterone and SHBG in clinical units and laboratories in Europe. The results of this survey will be used to propose harmonization efforts for testosterone and SHBG measurements.
